AGM
Hi and welcome to this summer edition of the region 7 newsletter.
With very little time to put this short news item together
I would just like to thank the committee, guests and all those
members who attended our AGM on Sunday 25th of April. It was
a very eventful day in which not only did we come together
to celebrate a Fellowship award to Valerie Hall, a much loved
and respected retired tutor from the Colchester area, but
we also had the help of Doris the clown, who not only caused
much havoc, but also provided us with some enthralling entertainment.
I must say I was not personally expecting to feature in Doris's
entertainment, but never the less endured the humiliation
with a open heart. I laughed so much I've now lost my voice.
I'm sure all present would join me in extending a heart felt
thanks to Doris for the fun. I'd also like to thank Celia
Rada and John for their warm welcome and hospitality, which
was enjoyed by all. The venue was excellent and we will definitely
recommend it.
Moving Forward with New Energies.
As the new chairman I would just like to thank you all for
my appointment to the position of region 7 Chair. I would
also like to thank friends, colleagues and those members who
encouraged me to stand, I'm most honoured to accept this role
and hope you will join me in embracing the current period
of change. When I say change I can hear many saying here we
go again, but I use the word change with a positive frame
of mind. Much of who and what we become, not only as individuals
but as an organisation relate to the sum total of our experiences.
We all came to this current point in time through the interactions
with our families, friends, colleagues and others, who have
in one way or another help us grow. Not every experience in
life is a good one, but when looking back over a period of
time with a reflective mind, we come to a realisation that
it is the wisdom of our elders that have helped and supported
us in many ways to bring us to this point. Some lessons in
life are hard to learn but without them we could not achieve
balance. Over thousands of years and throughout many civilisations
and continents it is a sense of community that consolidates
growth. My personal perception of growth is being able to
reflect with an honest heart on both the good and bad things
in life's journey, knowing that at times I may not have always
responded to situations in a way that others would have expected
me to, but that I have had the best intentions in mind, and
hope I am humble enough to apologise when I'm wrong. I was
taught by my late father, that a wise head should always rule
a still tongue , that it is not always the best time to speak
out when we feel emotionally upset ,and to encourage freedom
of speech at an appropriate moment, more haste, less speed.
Looking forward it is my intention to embrace both the old
and the new in an all inclusive manner, one that will forge
a positive community of enthusiastic healers and therapists
that can interact with each other, to a common goal, to expand
our inclusive community where each and every one who wishes
to take part can access the expertise and knowledge of our
members with each other. Change through growth brings freedom,
the freedom to express our true spiritual self that resides
within.
Love Light and Prosperity, Kevin Doe, Region 7 Chair.
